Mythologically speaking, the Snake Year, or Ding Si year, has a very intresting story. The lore talks about a divine being Ding Si Shen whose fortune bringing ability and protective attibutes are associated with the Snake year. The one who is most widely connected to this deity is Cui Shiqing, a figure from Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127AD).

Cui Shiqing was a man of great intellect as well as possessing skills of moral and ethical perception and future vision. He is said to have been a scholar-official who served faithfully under the emperor, contributing significantly to the administration and governance of the empire. His birth in the Year of the Snake speaks of the possesion of these qualities: intelligence, foresight, strategic planning, and the ability to be a great leader.

His contemporaries held Cui Shiqing in high regard due to his omniscient understanding of the natural world’s phenomenons and the ability to predict events. His life is a motivating one reminding everyone of the significance of wisdom, hardwork, and moral values.
